The doping sentenced former star sprinter Marion Jones are trying to settle into a new sport - basketball. Jones will train with the WNBA team San Antonio and hope to soon have the opportunity to play in a European club for the next season to break into the American professional league.
- I thought it would be an interesting journey. It would give me the opportunity to get a second chance, "she says.
34-year-old has served a six-month prison sentence for lying during a doping investigation. Jones was stripped of her three gold and two bronze from the Olympics in Sydney 2000 since it emerged that she had used doping substances.
- It is important that people know that you can make mistakes in life, but then be remembered for what you do after the mistake, "says Marion Jones.
