Publicity

Sometimes I wonder if all publicity is in fact good publicity?

On Friday the 13th (!!) 2007, the Finnish javelin thrower Tero Pitkämäki made an error throw and accidentally hit a French longjumper in the back with his javelin. The longjumper was hurt, but did survive. Thank God!

Millions of questions came in from all over the world. Was it a Nordic javelin? And yes, it was! A Nordic Champion carbon with a sharp tip.

Pitkämäki was of course chocked, but eight weeks later he took his first World Championship gold. With the same javelin!
